Biography

Danielle Marie Cahill writes from leafy North London. She studied English at the University of Cambridge. After working as a bookseller at Waterstones, she is now a partner in a law firm. She won The Caledonia Novel Award in 2024, and the BPA Pitch Prize in 2023. Her novels have also placed in multiple competitions, including The Penguin Michael Joseph Christmas Love Story competition (shortlisted) Novel London (shortlisted), The Bath Novel Award (longlisted), Mslexia (longlisted) and Pageturner Awards (finalist).

Danielle’s writing credits include, amongst others, WitchesSuburban WitchcraftQuarter Press, and Micromance. She contributed to The Little Book of Positive Birth Stories (Virago Press). Her debut poetry collection, Burnt Offerings (Alien Buddha Press), was recently published. Her short stories have won the From the Cauldron competition, were shortlisted for The Bridport Prize, and nominated for The Pushcart Prize. She also has two romantasy short stories forthcoming from Flame Tree Press in 2026.
