Alex Zane

Alex began his career in stand-up comedy as a finalist in the 1998 Channel 4 competition ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ His career then moved into television; starting at MTV he hosted the daily live show TRL:UK before moving to Channel 4 to become part of the acclaimed prank show Balls of Steel and then hosting T4’s Popworld and late night comedy show Rude Tube for ten series.

 He hosted the BBC showCelebrity Scissorhandsfor Children in Need before joining SKY TV. As an award-winning film journalist, Alex hosts Sky’s live annualOscar Night Party,in conjunction with the Academy Awards, as well as interviewing A-List actors and filmmakers for his 60-minute talk show, Reel Life… guests of which have included the likes of Stephen Spielberg, Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie.

 

His work in the world of film has made Alex the go-to-guy to host the London Premieres for the world’s biggest blockbusters, most recently The Royal Premiere for Daniel Craig’s finalJames Bondouting, at the Royal Albert Hall.

 

An accomplished radio broadcaster, Alex hosted London’sXfm Breakfast Showfor three years and currently presents his weekly podcastsJust the Factsand the award-winningClash of the Titles.

 

His writing credits include ITV’s BAFTA winning comedyThe Sketch Show, Channel 4’sThe11 O’clock Showand he currently has a drama seriesTrash Fishin development with Three Tables Productions.
