Bethany Black recently took her new show, UNWINNABLE, to the Edinburgh Festival.

Reviews for UNWINNABLE:

'I went for an hour laughing at every other word' ***** The LGBT Arts Review

‘Unwinnable’s greatest strength is that it feels effortlessly coherent… Black has the skill to readily incorporate up-to-date material into her act, and one gets the impression she would feel compelled to drop any routine which no longer resonated with her’ **** Fest Mag

'Bethany may have called her show Unwinnable but, if you’re looking for a consistent laughter count this Fringe, you’re onto a winner with Bethany.' **** Funny Women

Bethany Black has been a professional stand-up comedian since 2004.  Her debut show BETH BECOMES HER detailed the story of her being transgender, chronicling everything from her coming out through her transition and eventually falling in love.  It was nominated for Best Debut at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2008, eventually losing out to Sarah Millican.  Over the course of her career she has performed alongside some of the biggest names in Comedy, including Allan Carr, Sarah Millican, Tim Minchin and Rhys Darby.

In late 2017/early 2018 Beth filmed the role of Pocahantas for NO OFFENCE.

In 2015 she was cast as Helen in Russell T Davies multi channel shows CUCUMBER, BANANA and TOFU where she was the first trans actress to play a leading role. In late 2015, Beth played 474 in DOCTOR WHO.

Beth performed her show (EXTRA)ORDINARY at the 2016 Edinburgh Festival.
