Biography
In 2026 Bert will be publishing the first Windsors novel – Windsor vs Windsor; and writing and directing a new play Sinatra: One Last Shot at the Title. Bert began his comedy career as a stand-up, actor and TV presenter before going on to become a highly successful writer in partnership with George Jeffrie. Together they created the hit Channel Four shows Star Stories (2006-2008); Pete Vs Life starring Rafe Spall (2010-2011); and the much loved royal spoof The Windsors (2016-). The pair also contributed to the sketch shows Big Train, Ruddy Hell it’s Harry and Paul, and Armstrong and Miller; and wrote episodes of the sitcoms My Family, In With the Flynns and All About Me. Since George’s death in 2020, Bert was a producer and writer on the reboot of Spitting Image (2020-2021); wrote the Edinburgh Fringe play What the Heart Wants about the relationship between Frank Sinatra and Woody Allen (2022); and executive produced and wrote The Windsors Coronation Special (2023).
