We’re delighted to share that Tom Brittney has been cast as co-lead in the upcoming MGM+ period crime drama The Westies, starring opposite Academy Award-winner J.K. Simmons.
Set in early 1980s New York, The Westies explores the rise of the notorious Irish-American gang operating out of Hell’s Kitchen. Brittney will play James “Jimmy” Roarke, a fiercely loyal and ambitious young gangster whose loyalty is tested as the gang navigates a fragile alliance with the Italian mafia.
Tom is best known for his lead role in Grantchester (ITV/PBS), where he also directed multiple episodes. His recent credits include Netflix’s Back in Action alongside Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, and the Apple/Sony WWII drama Greyhound opposite Tom Hanks. Other notable work includes Make Me Famous (BBC), Outlander (Starz), UnReal (Lifetime), and Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool.
In addition to his acting work, Tom is co-founder of Wild Nest Pictures, a production company focused on developing original film and television projects.
