Biography

As an actor, he has made many appearances on television and stage, including the world premiere of Harold Pinter’s CELEBRATION (Almeida Theatre and New York) and Pinter’s NO MAN’S LAND at the National Theatre. Other appearances include PEOPLE at the National Theatre, MEDEA at the Almeida Theatre, THE CUTTING OF THE CLOTH at Southwark Playhouse, THE LAST YANKE at the Print Room and BLUE HEART at the Orange Tree Theatre. He was recently in the films DOUGH, LE CONFESSIONI and ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY. He is represented as an actor by www.scottmarshall.co.uk.  

Andy wrote and starred in his own TV play, CLEM for Channel 4, and he has written extensively for various TV drama series, including episodes of LOVEJOY, BOON, LIFEBOATS, CATS EYES, TECX, many episodes of the first series of PEAK PRACTICE and two episodes of KAVANAGH Q.C. He devised and wrote his own series, THE VET for Ikona Films/BBC. For the theatre, he has directed his own plays, QUESTION TIME, COLLATERAL DAMAGE, SNOGGING KEN and A FAMILY AFFAIR (adapted from the French ‘Un Air de Famille’), two national tours of Simon Williams’ NOBODY’S PERFECT for Paul Farrah Productions and a national tour of Williams’ sequel play, NOBODY’S FOOL. For the Mill at Sonning he has directed SHADY BUSINESS by Robin Hawdon, LOVE FROM A STRANGER by Agatha Christie, THE SOUND OF MURDER and ROOM SERVICE INCLUDED.

He recently published STAND UP OR DIE (Oberon Books), an account of his trips to New York to perform as a stand-up comedian.
