Ally Mackie is a writer and actor whose comedy-drama, WONDERLAND, was shortlisted for the BBC Studios Writers’ Academy.
Ally played a young mother in BBC One’s CALL THE MIDWIFE. She’s also starred in Indie films 7.2 (Island Films), THE RETREAT (Jetna Productions) and THE HOLLOW (Red Tree Films) alongside James Norton and Rose Leslie.
She can also be seen on short film, KOTTI, starring Emma Appleton (The Witcher, Traitors) and Anna Savva (The Durrells, Prime Suspect).
In 2022 she wrote and starred in the comedy/drama pilot – STELLA (Finite Films, Pinzutu Films)
Theatre credits include her roles as Titania in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (The Rose Theatre Festival), Estelle in NO EXIT (The Park Theatre) and Salome in SALOME (Barons Court Theatre).

Originally from Scotland, Ally ventured south to study in Oxford and then London. Her work is inspired by a love of black comedy and character-driven narrative.
