Below the Line

Tracy Granger was born in Los Angeles and, after graduating from Boston University, started work as an apprentice editor on the Burbank and MGM studio lots.

She worked her way up through the studio system, editing her first award-winning feature Gas Food Lodging in 1992. Tracy later moved to New York City to edit Nick Gomez's film New Jersey Drive, produced by Spike Lee. Tracy moved to London in 2000.

Her films have been in competition at Sundance, Cannes, New York, Seattle, Venice, Raindance and Berlin International Film Festivals.  However, she is best-known for cutting the Academy Award-winning Boys Don’t Cry for Killer Films.

Tracy was on the panel for the UK's first ACE EditFest, and her interview for the programme can be read here (page 4).

Tracy has her own home AVID system and holds both UK and USA passports. She is a member of BAFTA and in 2017 was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Tracy's focus now is to help women film-makers learn their craft and get their films made.
