After winning a run of short fiction prizes, Hania left Edinburgh University with a 1st class MA in Literature. Returning to London, she spent her twenties working as an associate literary agent, helping upcoming writers get their first projects commissioned and produced. But she never stopped writing herself. During those years, Hania twice made the Brit List with BFI-championed feature screenplays and in 2014 she left agenting to focus on her screenwriting career.

Hania's first project to hit screens, in 2018, was an 8-part Netflix Original: THE INNOCENTS. Co-created with Simon Duric, it's a runaway teen romance with an electric supernatural twist, set between Yorkshire, London and Norway. Hania wrote four of the eight episodes (1, 3, 4 & 7). Like all of her work, the series is driven by themes of transformation and identity - shining a light on complex and challenging female characters and relationships.

DAILY TELEGRAPH: a riveting, slow-burning supernatural drama… it is to the credit of writers Elkington and Duric that it ripples with such dread.

INDIEWIRE: The Innocents is the very height of delicious, meaty melodrama - served up by stunning performances.

THE DAILY DOT: The Innocents is one of the best Netflix Originals to date.

Hania was selected as a Screen International Star of Tomorrow 2018 and went on to write an episode of THE ESSEX SERPENT for See-Saw Films and Apple TV+, starring Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston.

Hania's new, original series, FIFTEEN-LOVE, starring newcomer Ella Lily Hyland and Aidan Turner, is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. This 6-part series explores trust, power and obsession in the world of elite tennis. Hania created the show, authored all episodes and Exec Produced. The stunning ensemble cast also includes Anna Chancellor (The Crown), Jess Darrow (Encanto), Tom Varey (Ridley Road), Amar Chadha-Patel (Willow) and newcomer Harmony Rose Bremner.

THE GUARDIAN (Lucy Mangan): The acting in this impeccably tense drama is absolutely mesmerising.

IRISH EXAMINER: Fifteen-Love is the show of the summer and Ella Lily Hyland is a revelation. If you like pacey drama that shifts through the gears, with ambiguous characters that make you wonder who's the bad guy, then this is the show for you.

RADIO TIMES: brand new tennis drama that is set to take your fascination with the sport to a whole new level.
