DARK RIVER

Dark River, the latest film directed by Clio Barnard, will have its world premiere at next month’s Toronto Film Festival.

The film features Ruth Wilson as Alice, who, after her father's death, returns to her hometown after 15 years to claim tenancy of the family farm. On her return, Alice finds her brother, played by Mark Stanley, worn down by years of trying to keep the farm going and refusing to let her take control. Alice must confront the past and seek a way to restore the farm and mend her relationship with her brother, before both are irredeemably lost.

The production was designed by Helen Scott and features costumes by Matthew Price and additional photography by Simon Tindall
