Since 2008, Lee has written plays and completed new writing attachments with theatres including the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Hull Truck, Contact Theatre, Fruitspace (Hull), Southwark Playhouse, The Royal Exchange Manchester, Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, The Old Vic and the Royal Court. In 2009, he also graduated from an MA in Writing for Performance & Publication at the University of Leeds.

Over the past few years, Lee has been developing spec scripts for television and film. From this work, he has been selected for BBC shadow schemes with EastEnders (2016) and Casualty (2017), gaining a commission for a Casualty episode.  His first short film The Nest Egg is currently being submitted to film festivals. Having picked up a couple of awards already, the film has screened at festivals including Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Beverly Hills Film Festival, DC Shorts, Hamptons International Film Festival and London International Short Film Festival.

Lee’s second short The Hit is currently looking for funding. Other credits include speech/content writing for IWC Schaffhausen and Saatchi & Saatchi.

A new pantomime created for 6-11 year olds to reflect the experiences of multicultural, multi-faith young people growing up in London. The play toured to 17 primary schools, culminating in a performance on The Old Vic stage; in total over 4,000 people saw the production.
