Chef Kiran Jethwa is a colourful and ambitious 3rd generation Kenyan born in Nairobi.
He has an English mother and an Indian father and the influence of the two cultures in his life can be clearly seen in his cooking style.
Having completed a BSc in Hospitality management in Manchester, he travelled all over the world, from the US, to Italy, France, South Africa, South East Asia, South & Central America and Australia in order to mould his professional abilities and broaden his palate.
This, combined with growing up in a house where food was the most important occasion, and coming from a family (originally from Goa) who created fantastic dishes at simple mealtimes have all contributed to his comprehensive knowledge of the culinary world.
Kiran has been a professional Chef for over 20 years and is the Chef and owner of one of Nairobi’s premier restaurant companies, Seven Restaurants Ltd. This comprises of Seafood & Grill and Seven Lounge & Grill. Avid sportsman Kiran is extremely active and has a number of full international caps for the Kenya National Rugby 15’s. He is a lover of the outdoors and will take any opportunity to go in seek of adventure.
Kiran brings to the screen the unique ability to combine his natural culinary flair with his love for adventure.
In February 2013, Kiran started his three-season run of Tales From the Bush Larder with Fox International Channels. The award winning show was set and shot across the African continent and viewed in over 60 countries through Fox’s vast platform headlining on Nat Geo People. The season also aired in Africa on Zuku.
Tales from the Bush Larder 2 was awarded the prestigious “Best T.V Show” at the 2014 Kenyan Kalasha International Film and TV Festival Awards.
In December 2015 Kiran premiered his riveting food, adventure and travel series, The Fearless Chef, in which he traverses the globe showcasing fascinating ingredients and extreme methods of harvesting. The show has enjoyed a wide audience on Fox International Platforms including Nat Geo People.
The Fearless Chef hit UK screens on April 17th 2016 on Channel 4, considered one of the leading factual entertainment broadcasters in the world.

Kiran Jethwa was nominated for the 2014 10th Annual Association Of International Broadcasting awards in London, a Festival celebrating best factual TV, radio and online productions in the Category of the INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION PERSONALITY for his show Tales from the Bush Larder.
Chef Kiran was nominated amongst a star-studded line up, including Christiane Amanpour, Richard Quest, Pia Castro and Ted Failon.
