After a sunny Australian childhood (spent indoors, reading books), Kate moved to London in 2009. Through her time working as a teacher and then a young people’s theatre producer, she found comfort, inspiration and distraction in food – a passion that has gradually taken over her life. She runs regular literary supper clubs in London.
Kate is the winner of the Guild of Food Writers Blogger of the Year Award 2017.
She contributes the Novel Recipes column fortnightly on the Guardian Books site.
Kate's first book, THE LITTLE LIBRARY COOKBOOK, was published by Head of Zeus in the UK October 2017, and will be published by Sterlin in the US in April 2018.
Her second book, THE LITTLE LIBRARY YEAR, will be published by Head of Zeus in 2019.
Praise for THE LITTLE LIBRARY COOKBOOK:
"A work of rare joy, and one as wholly irresistible as the food it so delightfully describes ... It is a glorious work that nourishes the mind and spirit as much as the body, and I could not love it more." Sarah Perry, author of The Essex Serpent
"What a joy ... If there is comfort food, there is also comfort reading, and The Little Library Cookbook is it." Bee Wilson
"Wonderful! [Kate] takes us on a fabulous food journey. It makes me want to both cook and read more at once." Tessa Kiros
