In March 2017, David returns to The Gate Theatre, Dublin to direct THE YALTA GAME by Brian Friel in their Beckett Friel Pinter Festival.

His highly acclaimed Spring 2016 production of WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF by Edward Albee was revived by The Gate Theatre, Dublin in October 2016.

‘In David Grindley’s deeply attentive handling of the play, the compelling fiction of George and Martha’s relationship – as bitter as it is binding – mutates into something more fantastically unsettling: a disintegrating weave of reality and fiction.’ ***** The Irish Times

‘Superb.’ ***** The Irish Examiner

SIDEWAYS by Rex Pickett played the St James Theatre, London from May to July 2016.

‘Director David Grindley’s wonderfully fluid stage production reassures at once, with its playful but confident grip on the dynamics of the various relationships on show.’**** Evening Standard

David’s production of Tom Murphy’s THE GIGLI CONCERT was nominated for Best Production in the 2016 Irish Times Theatre Awards.

David’s 2007 Broadway production of JOURNEY’S END by R.C. Sherriff won the Tony Award for Best Revival.
