Named as one of the 2023 Screen International Rising Stars of Ireland, Derek is an IFTA-nominated writer/director whose short films has screened at multiple prestigious festivals including SXSW, Sitges, Encounters and the Galway Film Fleadh.
His current short film as writer/director YOU'RE NOT HOME is currently enjoying a successful festival run, while his previous short film TO ALL MY DARLINGS was shortlisted for the 2021 BAFTA Student Awards and won the Audience Award at the 2021 Dublin International Film.
Derek is currently developing two features with the support of Screen Ireland, alongside completing work on two new short films.
