Ally Mackie is a writer and actor whose comedy-drama, WONDERLAND, was recently shortlisted for the BBC Studios Writers’ Academy.

A taster/proof of concept for her anthology series - STELLA (Finite Films, Pinzutu Films), has just been filmed.

Her first short film, KOTTI, starring Emma Appleton (The Witcher, Traitors) and Anna Savva (The Durrells, Prime Suspect), will soon air at various prestigious film festivals.

As an actress, Ally most recently played a young mother in BBC One’s CALL THE MIDWIFE. She’s also starred in Indie films 7.2 (Island Films), THE RETREAT (Jetna Productions) and THE HOLLOW (Red Tree Films) alongside James Norton and Rose Leslie. Theatre credits include her roles as Titania in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (The Rose Theatre Festival), Estelle in NO EXIT (The Park Theatre) and Salome in SALOME (Barons Court Theatre).

Originally from Scotland, Ally ventured south to study in Oxford and then London. Her work is inspired by a love of black comedy and character-driven narrative.
